  • Very important as credible group looking at us
  • Structure: Plenarys, then spend time with cost drivers
  • One person with necessary back up. Need face to face.

RDR Writing:

Bit on hold. Busy with costing exercise. Do have drafts/outlines except for Linac. Feed back needs to be given back to writers as some are wrong. Best thing to do, decided in last meeting, was to give an example. Used PT’s as an example with a rewrite from Nick. Have not been sent out yet. WORD is very painful. Should we go with LaTex?. Word documents could be converted to word. If no objections, LaTex or Word will be accepted.

Main thing – timetable. First draft will be due for the SLAC meeting.Just a milestone, will not be reviewed during the meeting. Draft will be submitted to the MAC in January. Password controlled website needed. Cost chapter and executive summary need to be discussed with Barry. Barry will work with CE’s. Executive summary- when is it available. Schedule is complicated with companion document. Possibly web based document available before hard copy.

Executive summary – written with document to flow according to summary. Gives priority to writers of the executive summary. Who’s writing the executive summary? Depends on what it is – should it be built up out of the report? Assemble the report than write the summary or make it flow down? The EC to write……? Page count – 290. ~25 pages for the executive summary. Should we base it on the TESLA TDR – diluted down. Do we connect to the WWS report? They will also have an executive summary.

WWS report – 50 pages of physics, 150 pages of everything else. One executive summary could cover the RDR and DCR.

We decided that there should be a single executive summary.

Authorship – is it the GDE? Not all RDR leaders are on the GDE. Do we have people sign off as endorsement instead? More to be thought about. It could be asymmetrical instead of equal among the regions.

Are we concerned about conformity between documents?
