First International Accelerator School for Linear Colliders

19-27 May 2006
Sokendai, Hayama, Japan

Organized by ILC GDE, ICFA Beam Dynamics Panel and the International Linear Collider Steering Committee

The GDE, ICFA Beam Dynamics Panel and the International Linear Collider Steering Committee support and help organize the International Accelerator School for Linear Colliders. The primary focus of the school will be on the International Linear Collider (ILC), but it will also cover multi-TeV colliders, such as the Compact Linear Collider (CLIC). This seminar style school, which is intended for graduate students, postdocs and young researchers, will have homework but no exams or university credit. We welcome applications from physicists who are considering changing their career from experimental physics to accelerator physics. Students from around the globe will be accepted into this first global accelerator school for linear colliders.

Topics

  • Linear Collider Basics
  • Super Conducting & Warm RF Technology
  • Beam Dynamics of Collider Linac & Damping Rings
  • ILC and its Major Systems
  • CLIC
  • Detectors and Physics

Important notes

  • Maximum number of students is 80
  • Accepted students will receive financial aid including travel (airfare, lodging, meals and local transportation)
  • No registration fee
  • Deadline for online application: February 15, 2006
